I had a reverse mortgage on my house and it was a very difficult time, it was during covid. That did not stop Umala from sticking with getting my house up and ready to sale. Manny was instrumental for my transaction. Other than being a vacant land purchase, my transaction was supposed to be relatively straightforward, with higher than required down payment, easy borrowers profile etc. But it was made incredibly difficult by (my) poor choice of the lender, who was hard to communicate with, inconsistent and unreliable. My partner and I were looking for a house since April 2020 in Contra Costa. As many of you already know, the market is hot with low amount of inventory and we decided to wait until the market opened up which never did. When the neighbor to my home sold his home in two days I thought to myself it's time to sell this property. A friend of mine had previously recommended Mike so I reached out to him to list my home. I told him how the neighbor's home sold in two days. He advised me to keep the property on the market longer to maximize offers, therefore, maximizing the chance that I would get more for my home. I took his advice and we listed significantly higher than the neighbors near identical home. After a week of leaving the home on the MLS, I received a cash offer of $5000 over the listing price! Mike explained to me that in a market like this it is best to exercise patience since the buyers outnumber the sellers. Thalia was an amazing Realtor to work with. We ended up changing realtors to her after 2 years of looking with another person. The difference between her and our previous realtor was night and day. Jonisha was an amazing guide and agent throughout our homebuying process. We were already overwhelmed by starting this process during a pandemic but she was very knowledgeable re: shifting rules and how the pandemic impacted various stages of the homebuying process. Her expertise calmed us. She specializes in 1st time homebuyers, so our first meeting with her was to walk us step by step through the buying process, the forms, contracts, what in fact goes into escrow, etc. It was eye-opening. And knowing all of that before we started our journey was great and built trust between us pretty quickly. Jonisha was great at providing us with referrals throughout the process as well (from mortgage brokers to contractors)! I cannot speak highly enough of professionalism and general good nature.
